The city was impressed because shortly thereafter the team was moving in. They got to work cleaning and painting. Scot's brother Dennis, a veteran of the local antiques trade, supplied some vintage decor. Scot's niece, Cortney, was an experienced waitress and was brought on to handle the waitstaff. And thus the Princess Anne County Grill was born. A truly family run restaurant catering to a family oriented clientele paying tribute to a fondly remembered piece of Virginia Beach history.

Several years ago long-time friends, Scot Wilson and Joe Faughnan, presented a plan to the City of Virginia Beach detailing their idea for the recently vacated cafe at the city's Farmer's Market. The plan centered on a theme of fine country fresh food directly from the vendors at the market packaged in a decor reminscent of old rural cafes that used to adorn historic Princess Anne County. The partners came with credentials to back up their plan. Scot was a 25 year veteran of the local restaurant scene and had just sold his Topper's Pizzeria. He was trained as a chef and had worked for some of Tidewater's best. Joe was a savvy business man making his mark in real estate investments. Scot's wife, local attorney Adrainne Bennett, put her stamp of approval on the plan and sent it off to the courthouse.
